Andrés Fernández (UD Almería). Almería won 0-1 away at Son Moix with Mallorca pressing hard, and he deserves plenty of the credit: one absolutely stunning save and a clean sheet at the home of one of the division's top contenders. Close calls went to Matthys (Castellón), who kept out a penalty from Álex Millán at Butarque, and Gazzaniga (Girona), who pulled off a wonder save from Corpas when the ball was heading straight for goal.
🛡️ Defence
Carlos Hernández (AD Ceuta) is player of the week, so not much more to say: two headers as a centre-back, a comeback, and a first win. Edgar González (CE Sabadell) was another defender on the scoresheet: the 1-1 at Balaídos off a corner, helping Sabadell grab a point and stay one step away from the playoff spots. And rounding out the line is Dani Calvo (Real Oviedo), captain and clean sheet in the derby. It pains me to put him in here, no lie, but the ideal eleven is the ideal eleven.
🎯 Midfield
Van de Beek (Girona) sealed the 2-0 over Albacete with a left-footed strike that hit the crossbar before going in. Israel Suero (Castellón) opened the scoring at Butarque with a screamer from around 30 yards out. Arnu (Valladolid) got a goal and an assist in the comeback against Córdoba, and David González (Burgos) settled the match against Eldense with a left-footed strike in the last minute of the first half. This lad at El Plantío is becoming a habit.

Jordi Cano (FC Andorra) scored two goals at Los Cármenes to end a run of five straight defeats. Ander Madariaga (SD Eibar) opened the scoring at five minutes in the 3-2 win against Las Palmas, Eibar's sixth consecutive victory—something the club had never achieved in professional football. And Víctor Fernández (Valladolid), a academy product, bagged his first professional goal and won a penalty. They called him up for the U-20s that same week: what a week the lad's having.
