Saudi Arabia faces Spain again in the group stage (Group H) of the 2026 World Cup with new coach Georgios Donis, who took over in April following Renard's departure
Salem Al-Dawsari, captain and star of the team at 34 years old with 108 caps, is the main threat and scored the goal that eliminated Argentina in Qatar 2022
The Saudi Arabia squad is composed almost entirely of players from the domestic league (25 of 26) and forms a compact block designed to trouble their opponents, which also include Uruguay and Cape Verde

Saudi Arabia crosses paths with Spain again in a group stage (Group H) and they're doing it mid-revolution: they changed managers right before the tournament. Georgios Donis took the helm in April, following Renard's departure.

🌟 Salem Al-Dawsari (Al-Hilal) is the captain and the danger man. Ring a bell? He's the one who scored that banger against Messi's Argentina in Qatar 2022. At 34 with 108 caps, he sets the tempo for the Green Falcons.

⚽ Up front, Firas Al-Buraikan (Al-Ahli) is the killer; midfield is run by Mohammed Kanno (Al-Hilal). A compact block, built to cause headaches.

🇪🇸 Fair warning to Spain: this group already knocked out Argentina once in Qatar. Getting complacent? Not recommended.

🔄 Chaos on the bench: the federation sacked Hervé Renard in March and appointed Georgios Donis just 7 weeks before the World Cup. Squad that's almost 100% homegrown: 25 of 26 play in the Saudi league.
