Real Sporting de Gijón's new 2026/27 kit: Siroko's first design, from El Molinón to Hollywood

I'm coming all the way from El Molinón to Hollywood to show you this, and I'm not exaggerating. The Real Sporting de Gijón's new home kit for 2026/27 is being unveiled in the city of stars, while we're out in Los Angeles following Spain at the World Cup. A blockbuster debut for a very, very special shirt: the first one Siroko is making for our Sporting.

Here's what the shirt looks like. Check out the details, because there's substance to this one. On the chest, three red stripes and two white ones, the classic ones, the ones that are ours. The Sporting crest is embroidered and on the other side, the Siroko logo. The fabric is micro-perforated —nice and breathable, the kind that doesn't get wringing out after three minutes— and it hides the detail I loved most: if you look carefully at the white stripes, you'll spot the word «PUXA» woven throughout the shirt. Brilliant. The sleeve changes texture from the chest and features a gold detail in white and red that repeats on the collar.

And then there are those little touches that make all the difference: a button with the Siroko and Sporting markings engraved on it, and a nod to Asturias —the Cross of Victory in gold and blue, with the «Siroko · Official Product» seal— with that hologram-style effect that, if you move the shirt like those 3D tazos we had as kids, shifts with the light. And my favourite bit: inside the collar it has an engraved phrase that says it all, «THE CLUB OF OUR LIVES». As Guille Rosas said so well, it represents those of us from here, those who feel this crest in their hearts. Mind you, the one I'm showing is fresh off the press: completely blank, just the fabric, no main sponsor, no sleeve patches or number yet.

What's behind this (and what I'm genuinely proud of). Beyond the design, what matters is the story: Siroko is a brand born in Gijón, based in Gijón, now outfitting Real Sporting de Gijón. And not just that: they'll also be the main sponsor. A local brand backing their club and a club backing their brand. That sense of belonging doesn't come around often in football, and I think it's beautiful. We came from Puma, who did a cracking job last season and set the bar high —I'm the first to admit it— but this is just the home kit… and let me tell you something: you're not ready for what's coming.

Fingers crossed this kit brings us plenty of joy, makes us strong at home and, who knows, gets us back to the top flight. From El Molinón to Hollywood for this debut with you lot. Come on Sporting, come on Asturias… and that's the way it is, mate, that's the way it is.
