Is Real Sporting de Gijón's 2026/27 squad broken in EA FC 27? All 30 player ratings revealed: Otero and Gelabert 74, Sarco with 82 potential

What's up, lads? It's the most wonderful time of the year: EA FC 27 is out and, as an EA SPORTS Game Changer in their Creator Network, I've got the final build exclusively before the rest of the world. There are barely a handful of us creators in Spain with that privilege and the first video of each year can only be one thing: the official Sporting Gijón squad in the game, keeper to striker, checking out what overalls and attributes they've given them, whether they match reality and if their faces actually look like them or if someone sculpted a few of them out of potatoes. Here's the full deal: the video, the complete table and my take—and trust me, I'm a Sporting fan so objectivity isn't exactly my strong suit.

Is Sporting's squad broken in EA FC 27?

Broken? Nah. But there's no world-beater to break the game either: the highest overall in the squad is 74 and only two players have it, Juan Otero (striker, 88 pace) and César Gelabert (attacking mid, face is spot-on and even his neck tattoo is there). Below them, a block of 73s with Guille Rosas, Àlex Corredera and Rubén Yáñez, then the rest scattered between 61 and 70. To give you an idea: if you're hunting for a "realistic" squad in Manager mode, Sporting is exactly that—a mid-table Segunda side you actually need to build around. And looking at what's happened at El Molinón (4 points from 12 at home and two straight defeats), EA didn't lose any sleep over it.

Watch out for one detail in the video: in this year's Manager mode the overall is dynamic. When the season kicks off, nearly every player shows up with an extra point in green (Yáñez comes out as 74 when his real overall is 73, Otero at 75…) because the game considers them "in form" from pre-season. The numbers in this table are EA's official ratings, without that friendly gift point.

Sporting's 30 overalls in EA FC 27, player by player

The 24 players with Ultimate Team cards come from EA's official ratings; the other six (Ordóñez, Àlex Diego, Duñabeitia, Bruno Rubio, Ferreres and Conde) I pulled straight from the final build. Overall is the general rating and Pot. is what Manager mode estimates as potential. In green, attributes of 75 or higher; in red, below 50.

What stands out most (and what hurts most) about each one

Dressing room records in EA FC 27

• The quickest: Juan Otero, 88 pace and 90 sprint speed. Behind him: Gaspar Campos (80), Guille Rosas (79) and Pablo García (78). The slowest: Loum at 33.
• The strongest: Otero again, 92 strength, ahead of Pablo Vázquez (86), Casas (82) and Loum (82). And the highest jumper too: 90, with Casas (85) and Ferrari (83) in his wake.
• Best shot: Gaspar Campos, 75 shooting with 87 power and 80 long shot. You've got to give it everything, Gaspi.
• Best passer: Corredera (73), followed by Otero, Gelabert and Guille Rosas (72). Gelabert has the best vision at 75.
• Best dribbler: Gelabert (75), with Otero and Guille Rosas (74) and Corredera (74).
• Best defender: Hugo Guillamón, 75 defending, more than any centre-back (Vázquez and Gularte 69, Sáenz and Diego Sánchez 67, Rosas 66).
• The engine: Guille Rosas, 92 stamina; Corredera (90), Gaspar and Gelabert (87) and Otero (85) run marathons too.
• Most aggressive: Guille Rosas, 84. Go figure.
• Best weak foot: four stars for Gelabert, Gaspar, Guillamón, Ferrari and Konrad. Most skills: Otero, the only one with four.
• Highest potential: Alejo Sarco (82), Gelabert, Diego Sánchez, Àlex Diego and Manu Rodríguez (77), Ferrari, Cuenca, Guille Rosas, Bruno Rubio and Duñabeitia (76).

Sporting's ideal eleven in EA FC 27 (by averages)

If you let the ratings decide, you get a 4-3-3 pretty similar to what we see on Sundays: Yáñez (73); Guille Rosas (73), Pablo Vázquez (70), Jorge Sáenz (68), Diego Sánchez (69); Guillamón (70), Corredera (73), Nacho Martín (68); Gaspar Campos (70), Otero (74) and Gelabert (74). Team average: 70.9. On the bench: Casas (69), Ferrari (68), Pablo García (68), Gularte (68), Nikita (67), Loum (66) and Konrad (66).

And if you play Manager mode thinking two seasons ahead, the names change: Sarco up front from day one (64 → 82), Diego Sánchez a fixture at left-back (69 → 77), Manu Rodríguez in midfield (62 → 77) and Cuenca (64 → 76) and Àlex Diego (61 → 77) rotating at the back. That's literally the squad that real Sporting needs to develop.

The faces: who looks right and who doesn't

EA scanned some players and "interpreted" others. They look right: Gelabert (even the neck tattoo), Jorge Sáenz, Alejo Sarco (spot on), Guillamón, Guille Rosas, Pablo Vázquez, Duñabeitia, Enol Prendes and Manu Rodríguez. Decent: Diego Sánchez, Cuenca and Pablo García with his curly hair. Not even close: Rubén Yáñez, who looks nothing like himself—nothing at all. You know what to ask for in the next update.

My take: where I disagree with EA

Generally the ratings are fair for what the team is showing, but there are two things I'd change. I'd give Guille Rosas more defensive ability (66 is light for someone who tackles like he does) and Cuenca a bit more pace—at 19 and with the way he plays, he runs faster than a 71. And while not a complaint, it's definitely good news: that EA sees a ceiling of 82 for Sarco when he arrived at 64 means people outside Gijón also see what we see. Now the manager just needs to see it.
