LaLiga Hypermotion matchday 2 preview: Forés and Gragera return to El Molinón and Segunda shows no mercy

Not even a week's rest: matchday 2 kicks off tonight and it's loaded with intrigue — a leader being tested on the island, a historic academy side making their home debut, and get this, a double return to El Molinón that's going to fire up the stands more than the match itself. 📅 Friday: the appetiser has bite

Córdoba — Girona · 21:00

Both arrive bruised from their openers: Córdoba threw away the El Plantío match in stoppage time and Girona still don't know how to win in Segunda — that point at Montilivi against Lega felt like a defeat for a squad that, on paper, should be looking upwards. El Arcángel on a Friday night is a perfect trap for a relegated side having doubts.

📅 Saturday: Tartiere is crying out for some cheer

Real Oviedo — Leganés · 17:00

The neighbours still haven't opened their goalscoring account in 26/27 and they're hosting a Lega side that ground out a point at Montilivi with some craft. Eibar — Valladolid · 17:00 and Castellón — Sabadell · 19:00

Eibar, still licking their wounds from Tenerife's slap at Ipurúa, host a Pucela who also don't know what it is to pick up points (and they'll be without Guille Bueno for a while). And Sabadell, who left El Molinón with a positive result, travel to a Castellón side that's started how they finished last season: winning battles. Real Sporting de Gijón — Burgos · 19:00

🔥 The drama of the matchday, double dose, and it's all happening at El Molinón. First, Álex Forés: the striker from the summer soap opera — the one with Villarreal lined up, the one being linked with Sporting until the last second — lands in Gijón wearing Burgos colours and already with a goal on his debut. Fortuna play their first-ever home match in Segunda history, and they get the hottest test going: Andorra and their five-goal blitz. And Granada, still searching for a goal, close out the matchday against the only relegated side that won on opening day — a Mallorca whose serious ambitions haven't been dented by their million-pound sales.
