Right then, lads? Third matchday in the books and Hypermotion's already made it crystal clear: no mercy this year. The lead changed hands in a derby, one of the two perfect-record teams picked up a thrashing, the other crashed at home (cheers for that, by the way), and down the bottom there's already three clubs sweating buckets staring at the table. Let's run through the lot of it, result by result, with the full standings at the end.

🍇 Granada snatch top spot in the year's first derby showdown

The first Andalusian derby of the season ended with a twist: Córdoba went ahead after just two minutes through Percan and El Arcángel was smelling like a party… until Granada flipped it on its head with a 1-3 comeback (Dembelé, Jorge Pascual and Marqués in stoppage time) that's also good enough for top of LaLiga Hypermotion. Three matchdays, seven points, and the Nazarís leading Segunda without making a peep. Heads up, this relegated Granada side's got the stuff of promotion winners about them.

💥 The matchday both co-leaders came a cropper

Because both teams that rolled in unbeaten left empty-handed. Tenerife 0-1 Sporting I already gave you the full story on in the post-match (Yáñez like a wall, Sarco's finish with his hands practically tied, and a robbed goal that still does my head in). But what happened at Montilivi was another level of carnage: Girona 5-2 Las Palmas, with Yáser Asprilla bagging a brace and well and truly throwing his hat in the ring for top scorer. Girona, sat on one point from nine after the postponed match, woke up with a bang and delivered the highest scoring spree of the season — looks like that pricey squad finally got round to reading the Segunda rulebook. 😮 Debut day: Oviedo, Sabadell and Valladolid find their feet

A matchday of firsts all over the table. Real Oviedo grabbed their first win of the season (0-1 away at Belmonte with a Pablo Sáenz opener) and their first goal while they were at it — yes lads, even the neighbours fancy a shot now and then; chuffed for them, three matchdays of nothing was getting painful to watch. Sabadell marked their home debut with a win AND their first goal of the campaign (Gioacchini put Almería to bed): three clean sheets to the good and already know how to score — watch out for these harlequins, that's how you save relegations. And Valladolid scraped a point in Carranza plus their first goal (1-1). Even Leganés had their moment: a winner in the 90th courtesy of Miguel Atienza — signed for nothing from Burgos this summer — while Butarque's already dreaming about seeing Morata in the dugout.

📉 And down the bottom, three already in trouble

Albacete are the real horror show of this kickoff: nil from nine, the medical room bursting at the seams and now even getting overtaken by the neighbours. Ceuta are in a right pickle: zero points, one goal for and ten against after the 3-0 beating at Son Moix — where by the way Adam Buksa bagged his debut goal five days after arriving, and Mallorca are already purring. And Eldense have managed one from nine. There's loads of football left, but Segunda doesn't hang about: ask Castellón, who went to Balaídos, turned it around against Fortuna (1-2) and snapped their unbeaten run to park themselves third.
