📝 Match report

Burgos came from behind in a match that went against them before the quarter-hour mark due to a goal from Carlos Hernández, but Alberto Dadie equalised shortly after in a game that was decided after the break with goals from Jon Karrikaburu early on and Carlos Redruello scoring an own goal at the end. The blanquinegros knew that Kuki Salazar had unleashed a brilliant direct free-kick into the top corner from the edge of the box in the 13th minute, but he came up against an incredible save from Cantero, so when the Ceuta defender slipped up after the break with an own goal, the momentum shifted instantly. Burgos had a first half full of doubts and inaccuracies, but improved in the second half and with an early goal from Karrikaburu and another from their opponent putting it into their own net, they managed to seal a match they ultimately deserved to win. Burgos CF moved into provisional third place in the LaLiga Hypermotion 2026-2027 table following this victory, their second of the season and their first since their opening game. What many didn't see coming was the gesture of support that painted the entire matchday with solidarity: all players from both teams wore shirts backing Ceuta, reminding everyone that beyond the result of a football match there are realities that matter far more. An afternoon at El Plantío where the blanquinegros recovered lost sensations after deploying a second half of genuine bite, showing that the summer overhaul is beginning to click. Ceuta, bottom of the table and still without a win, leave Burgos with an uncomfortable truth: you don't come to Second Division football to teach lessons if you lack character and consistency for all ninety minutes.
