📝 Match report

CD Leganés found in Luis Carrión the compass they needed to stop four consecutive defeats, and although victory didn't come at Butarque, the draw against RCD Mallorca injected a different spirit into the cucumber growers. The team took 45 minutes to shake off the fear, but finished the match searching for a win that slipped through the hands of Arnau Tenas. That turnaround was the real star of matchday 11, which delivered a fair result: CD Leganés and RCD Mallorca drew (1-1) at Estadio Ontime Butarque, with 10,521 spectators witnessing a clash that could've gone either way. Mallorca found spaces and went ahead in the 33rd minute, when Luvumbo capitalised on a Raúl Fernández rebound to score. The Butarque crowd got behind a team that, for the first time in the match, seemed determined to seize the initiative, and that hunger for goals didn't take long to arrive. In the 57th minute, a magnificent counter-attack conducted with precision by Álex Sancris ended in a measured cross into the heart of the box, where Álex Millán appeared unmarked to tap the ball into the net and make it 1-1. Leganés weren't satisfied: Unax came close to snatching victory in the final moments, but with six minutes remaining Arnau Tenas denied Unax with a brilliant save that sealed a bittersweet point for the visitors. Leganés still need wins and stay on twelve points, but their new manager's debut leaves a first signal: the team haven't found three points yet, but they did dare to search for them until the end, and that, when all's said and done, is what mattered most after so many defeats. Butarque got the pepinero faith back: it wasn't a win, but it felt pretty close to one.
