Leganés got the better of Eldense with a 1-0 victory under the watchful eye of Álvaro Morata from the Butarque stands, with Miguel Atienza finishing off the winning goal right on the 90-minute mark. The second half belonged to Eldense tactically. Suleimane made his LaLiga debut in the 82nd minute and seven minutes later set up Miguel Atienza for the goal, following a chance from Álex Millán when Leganés loaded the box again. That was the hosts' moment of magic. Rubén Albés' moves gave Leganés more attacking thrust, and although Eldense took eight corners to Leganés' none, it was the visitors who had 16 shots compared to the Madrid side's 11. The stats favoured Eldense, but the scoreboard only registered one goal for the home side. Leganés showed one of the traits that are defining this season's start: their ability to compete until the bitter end. That's Segunda Division football for you, mate: winning doesn't always mean playing well. Sometimes it's just about being alive when the final whistle blows.
