📝 Match report

Mallorca recovered their winning ways against Ceuta with a commanding 3-0 victory, but what defined this Sunday at Son Moix was far more than just a scoreline: the Mallorca fans gave their backing to the Ceuta players in their cause. Spanish football rallied behind Ceuta, and the bermellones, aware of the reality facing this border city, showed their most solidarity-minded side. Mallorca imposed their hierarchy from the first minute and ended up signing off on a 3-0 that reflects the gap between both teams. Sunday at the Balearic stadium wasn't a spectacle of football torn apart by controversy, but of a freshly relegated side that reminded everyone why they have promotion aspirations written all over them. Five minutes in, Anuar Tuhami had to come off injured after a muscle problem, a significant blow for José Juan Romero's men, but Ceuta tried to dig in. The resistance didn't last long. The bermellones went ahead from a free-kick on the edge of the box and it was Sala who fired in a belter with a strike that took an unreachable curve past Vallejo. Before that, Zito Luvumbo had rattled the crossbar with a header from the centre of the area, as if Mallorca needed reminding they had options with an open goal too. In the second half, Adrián Fuentes made it two with a left-footed finish from the centre of the box, assisted by Zito Luvumbo. The match was done and dusted, but the bermellones kept hunting. Adam Buksa wrapped it up with a close-range header from a corner, with the assist coming from Álex Sala. There was a late refereeing incident: Ceuta claimed a penalty on Jordi Escobar in the 86th, reviewed by VAR and not given. Mallorca will be back in the top flight without question if they keep up this ruthless dominance. Ceuta, meanwhile, remain pointless in the second tier, and the road back is starting to look like a journey that demands far more than just willpower.
