📝 Match report

Celta Fortuna arrived in Ceuta at the final act of an odyssey that looked like it was straight out of a Jules Verne novel: land, sea and air in their backpack to play matchday four, and had the satisfaction of closing that epic journey with a victory. A 0-2 that might not sound like much at Alfonso Murube stadium, but it represented far more than three points in the kitbag heading home. For the first time away from Balaídos, the Vigo reserves broke free from that syndrome of a team that asks permission before playing, the one that had defined their first weeks in Segunda. Here, facing a Ceuta side without a win in four matchdays—no goals scored, none conceded in their favour—Fortuna found the drive to demand excellence from the off. The blue team took to the pitch wearing shirts with the message "Estamos con Ceuta", showing solidarity with the autonomous city amid the migration crisis fallout, a gesture that revealed context looming large beyond the touchline. The Galicians controlled the first half and could have opened the scoring before the break, prowling around the home goal without mercy. Adrià Capdevila went ahead in the 43rd minute after finishing from close range following Pedro López's poor handling of a through ball from Anxo Rodríguez. That was what generally eluded them: what they call a cool head—proper composure, not just nerve—and Capdevila showed it in the purest form possible: virtually an open net after leaving the Ceuta keeper in a heap. AD Ceuta, bottom of the table and pointless after four matchdays, watched the anxiety grip their supporters with twelve goals conceded and just one for. After the break the match swung: Ceuta came out with new pace, fresh ambition and far more presence in the opposition half, but what the home side never found was the finishing touch. The Galicians showed grit and solid defensive order, sealing the game with a second goal deep into stoppage time. Bernard Somuah finished with his right foot from the centre of the box to the far corner, assisted by Pablo Gavián after a counterattack. Before that, Capa saw red in the 88th minute, an extra blow for the home fans. Seven points from twelve, a first away win and a team starting to believe in what they can do: that's what Celta took from Ceuta. The Celta reserves discovered they also know how to suffer without asking for permission.
