📝 Match report

A comeback win for Córdoba who sweep aside a free-falling Albacete. The Andalusian side climbed to six points on the table and provisionally moved away from the relegation zone, while the La Mancha outfit are left with just a single point. The match started in the worst possible way for Córdoba at Carlos Belmonte: Álex Rubio scored the quickest goal of the season in just thirty seconds, capitalising on a defensive error following a through ball from Mario Soberón behind the centre-backs. For an Albacete side that arrived looking to build on the improvement shown the previous week after picking up their first point in Granada, that early blow seemed like the prelude to an afternoon of glory at home. But Córdoba, despite tension in the fanbase after supporters saw off the team with boos following defeat to Almería, showed character in the second half. Soberón came close with a direct free-kick from the left wing that struck the post before the break, a chance that could have foreshadowed what was to come. Isma Ruiz levelled with a cheeky heel finish after an assist from Dani Budesca in the 57th minute, and Diego Percan sealed it 1-2 in the 71st with a well-placed strike in the Albacete box. It was a fine response from Córdoba in the second half to pull off the comeback following a frankly dreadful start, and goals from Isma Ruiz and Percan were enough to expose an Albacete side that also showed their seams. The defeat was Albacete's fifth in six matchdays, a dreadful second half that could even cost manager Alberto González his job. Córdoba are reborn thanks to a commanding second-half display; Albacete remain in the quicksand of Segunda División, and at this stage of the season there's no room for error anymore.
