A draw without glory at Heliodoro. CD Tenerife and Cádiz CF drew 1-1 on matchday 7 of LaLiga Hypermotion in front of 15,887 spectators, with Enric Gallego putting the hosts ahead in the 25th minute and Vladyslav Kopotun levelling in the 74th. Gallego, who turned 40 on September 12th, was the one who broke the deadlock after a blue-and-white counterattack. Martin Pečar had tried earlier with a low drive that keeper David Gil stopped, but the goal came at just the right moment for a squad that needed to react. The captain was once again the reference point for a team that had just suffered Castellón's hammering. Before the break, Sergio Arribas came close to equalising with a cut-back from the left in the 41st and Antoñito Cordero tried his luck from outside the box. Tenerife headed into the dressing room with a deserved advantage, but the disaster at Castalia was still hanging in the air. Both benches made early changes: Cádiz brought on Dilan Zárate and Efe Ugiagbe in the 56th, Álvaro Cervera responded with Dani Fernández and Iván Chapela replacing Gerard Valentín and Pecar, and in the 70th Christian Gomis came on for Tenerife and Urko Izeta for Cádiz. Tenerife held onto the 1-0 until the 74th minute, when Vladyslav Kopotun equalised for Cádiz after an assist from Ibon Sánchez. The hosts sought a reaction: David Rodríguez had a chance very close to goal and Christian Gomis sent a shot just wide in stoppage time. Tenerife sniffed at a winning goal but settled for sharing the spoils, though at this stage a home draw tastes worse than a defeat when you've just shipped five, and Real Oviedo is already smiling from higher up the table. Another point picked up, another opportunity wasted.
