📝 Match report

Las Palmas got off to a thrilling start in the Hypermotion with a win against Albacete at the Gran Canaria, in a match where the islanders controlled the tempo but had a proper scare down the stretch. Jesé opened the scoring early on in the 21st minute with a goal that settled the locals, but that's when Albacete woke up: Victor San Bartolomé levelled things up in the 85th when it already smelled like a home victory, turning the stadium upside down and forcing a nerve-shredding finale. The madness came in the 90+3 with Sandro sealing three points for Las Palmas in an absolutely Hollywood ending, because Segunda División football is just bonkers like that. With 66% possession and clear ball dominance, the yellows took home a win that felt like glory even though Albacete were far from intimidated, matching shots on target (4-4) and creating danger from an aggressive defensive approach (16 fouls committed). Matchday 1 and there's already plenty to talk about all week in the Canaries.
