📝 Match report

Almería came from behind with two crucial goals in the final stretch against a Burgos side that deserved far more. The home goals came from Brian Cipenga in the 76th minute and Miguel de la Fuente in the 83rd, while Jon Karrikaburu had put the visitors ahead in the 39th. Once again, the Andalusian outfit produced their best football when it mattered most, and they did it against one of the most uncomfortable rivals for keeping a grip on things in an increasingly competitive category. Almería and Burgos are both direct promotion candidates firing on all cylinders, but whoever came to Almería ran straight into a wall of supporters who were buzzing from kick-off. Karrikaburu's goal, which came in the 39th, was born from a slick move by the Castilian side that found a passing lane through a momentary defensive lapse from the hosts. The Burgos players executed with precision and intelligence, but Almería didn't flinch. Not even when half-time arrived with the 0-1 scoreline against them. García Pimienta's substitutions proved decisive: after the break, Baptistao, Thalys and Marcos Luna were withdrawn to make way for Chirino, Miguel de la Fuente and Embarba. The match shifted completely. In the 78th minute, Brian Cipenga headed home a brilliant cross from Arribas and made it 1-1. Just six minutes later, Miguel de la Fuente, who'd come off the bench, sealed the 2-1 victory. At 0-1, Burgos had the upper hand and in the final stretch, in isolated moments, they got the Almería lads rattled, who'd lost their way in the game, but once García Pimienta hit the right notes there was nothing doing. Cipenga and De la Fuente turn Karrikaburu's goal around in six minutes and Almería reach 18 points, with four wins in four at home. That's no fluke. When it clicks at Estadio Juegos Mediterráneos, Almería turn it around against anything.
