Leganés snatched victory at Carlos Tartiere against Oviedo thanks to a goal from Gharbi in the 19th minute, in a match where they managed to hold the result even with a man down after goalkeeper Raúl Fernández's red card.
When everything looked set for Saturday in Oviedo to be a party and make us forget the first game, Leganés turned up and delivered a masterclass in efficiency and defensive discipline.
The Madrid side started the better and warned in the 5th minute with a clear chance for Zico that goalkeeper Aarón Escandell pushed away. Shortly after came the knockout blow: Gharbi put the pepineros ahead with a tight shot against the right post from the edge of the area. Oviedo, who were dominating possession as expected at home, suddenly found themselves on the back foot and immediately deflated even more.
