📝 Match report

Eibar secured their first win of the season on matchday two of LaLiga Hypermotion thanks to a goal from Álvaro Rodríguez in the second half (1-0), leaving a battered Real Valladolid stranded on zero goals and zero points after two matchdays. Eibar and Real Valladolid arrived at Ipurúa with a shared hunger: to claim their first victory of the campaign after both kicked off with defeats. It was a battle that the armeros ultimately won in the final stretch, though Valladolid called the shots in the first half. The blanquivioletas played without fear from the off and after the 10-minute mark began to take control, pressing while Eibar struggled to string together fluid football. On 18 minutes Latasa fluffed a howler from a metre out when the visitors were clearly on top. The Pucela side had their chances, but found that Eibar knew how to dig in and wait for their moment. The restart didn't treat the blanquivioletas kindly, as they found themselves on the receiving end of Eibar's improved second-half showing. SD Eibar went ahead on 64 minutes off a quick transition, with a through ball for Álvaro Rodríguez, who made no mistake in front of Aceves. Despite Pucela keeping their hands on the wheel for large spells, only SD Eibar managed to find the net, taking the spoils by the narrowest of margins. Referee Juan Manuel Gordillo Escamilla, a 33-year-old from Valencia, made his professional football debut after three seasons in Primera Federación. A matchday where the armeros seized the chance to get rolling and start believing that the bitter pill of their Tenerife opener might yet have an antidote. Eibar boss Jokin Aranbarri got to taste victory for the first time directing a professional outfit. Valladolid, meanwhile, will be hunting in the coming matchdays for a way to break free from the curse that's defined their season so far—two games, zero goals, zero points—with the urgency of a team that knows the hole only gets deeper if you don't make moves fast.
